Taking a cue from other states, a number media members from several publications came together to devise a Top 20 poll for Rhode Island high schools. With the season on the horizon, here are the preseason rankings:

Rogers not even ranked....how the mighty have fallen....I remember the days when Portsmouth was always awful and Rogers was always a powerhouse.....What happened?....is it because there is no longer a large Navy population in Newport?
I think that's a lot of it. A little more than 100 students were in last year's graduating class, meaning the school just isn't getting the amount of athletes needed to compete at the Division I level.
Truth be told, I think Frank Newsome is doing a heck of a job with what he's been given. But I think going down to Division II or D-III would suit this team better.
