*$#%@$@#!

Well, I wanted a crazy last-second shot, and I got it. Too bad it's no good for my bracket. WKU just hit a last-second 3-pointer to beat Drake by two. A great game, and a great example of what makes this tournament so fun. Would anyone outside of Iowa or Kentucky care about a Drake-Western Kentucky matchup during the regular season? Absolutely not. But in March, you can't turn away.

Now that was awesome ... Between Duke-Belmont and that last game, we've gotten some really good finishes. At least a few that offset the UCLA and Kansas games.

Indeed. All this excitement (and the fact that I've been up since 4 a.m.) is making me tired.
Sorry to bail, but I'm in dire need of a championship-caliber nap.
Maybe a few minutes of Georgetown-UMBC first.
Hey, quick trivia, what's UMBC stand for?

Should I answer this, or let one of our dedicated readers do the honors?

The University of Maryland-Baltimore County Sacrificial Lambs!

you guys have dedicated readers?

We have one now ... you!

Hey Sheila... nice pick with USC there... what did you do, look at my sheet to see how NOT to pick winners?

SheilaM said...

This is definitely my worst start! But USC is the only team that lost that I had going deep. Damn you, O.J. Mayo!

Why did I never hear of the guy on K-State that supposedly is the #1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft? I'd like to know why I didn't get the memo on that one...

Scott Barrett said...

Youve never heard of Beasley, the guy with 13 games of 30 points and 10 rebounds and who is likely the national player of the year? What is the address of that rock you've been living under?

SheilaM said...

Yeah, the Mayo-Beasley matchup was only the most overhyped since Tyson-Holyfield. How's that for a sports analogy?

I'm usually on top of these types of things, and for some strange reason, this slipped through the cracks... oh wait, I do have a 3-yr old and a 1-yr old, so that *could* be a factor as to why I don't get to watch as much SportsCenter as I used to and why I totally hate the friggin Wiggles now... not that I didn't hate them before of course...

OK, I'm back. I have address what an apparent idiot this friend of mine is. I am by no means a college hoops genius, but you really never heard of Michael Beasley? What does he need to do, get an infamous YouTube clip that rival's Mayo's?

I watch old Muppet cartoons on YouTube and about the 1st 40 seconds of the Robot Chicken Mario Brothers clip because that's before any of the swearing or violence and Eric loves the Mario Bros getting into the big purple car... I'll have to check it out tonight.

And Scott, wasn't Tyler Hansbrough the national player of the year? They don't retire jerseys at NC for nothing.

Rick Grosvenor said...

Maybe Michael Beasley should have guest starred on the Muppet Show.

I LOVE the Muppet Show!

Dude... did you take a 20 minute power-nap?

Rick Grosvenor said...

No nap yet. I've been meaning to, but then you showed up, so I felt I had to stay on to make sure you didn't say all sorts of crazy things about me.

Anonymous said...

I'll say them regardless of whether or not you're here, but still, I'd prefer your smarmy comments add to the conversation.

Rick Grosvenor said...

Yes, and this way I can at least defend myself if need be.

I haven't checked scores in awhile. How about a new thread with something witty from someone... no pressure now.

Does anyone think San Diego could upset Connecticut?

Rick Grosvenor said...

Not likely, although UConn does lay the occasional egg.

SheilaM said...

And Price is (or at least was)hurt. I agree with Paul ... new thread! (Or more Muppet references)

Rick Grosvenor said...

You mean AJ "We want to blow them out. That's what we're coming to do" Price?

Anonymous said...

Are you sure he was grammatically correct on that quote?

Rick Grosvenor said...

I'm pretty sure he was not grammatically correct, but that's what he said the day before Providence beat UConn the second time this season. Apparently he did not approve of the Friars' celebration after PC won at UConn.
This is why UConn stinks. They whine about a bad loss to a bad team. Move on.
