Michael Beasley and O.J. Mayo both have 2 points, yet Kansas State is up 27-19 with 5 minutes left in the first half. Too bad both of these teams will fall back into obscurity when they declare they're bound for the NBA.

You know Bill Walker and his 14 points on KSTATE is a freshman right? And him an OJ used to snap towels at each other in the high school locker room
Go K-State! And hey, Texas did just fine after Kevin Durant left. Then again, I realize USC and KSU don't exactly have the level of program that Texas has, but still, no need to write them off just because their fab frosh leave after one year. And with that, I'm going to sign off for the evening. Sad as it is, it's nearly time for bed.
Personally, I'm not in favor of letting kids leave after one year. Then again, I guess it's better than allowing them to make the jump from high school.
I actually got into this conversation yesterday. Look at a guy like Jermaine O'Neal, who came right out of high school, took time to develop in the NBA and became a great player (before injuries took over). Still, he was getting paid the whole time and never had to worry about "Whoa, if I get injured, my career is over without getting that big pay day."
It's tough because as college basketball fans, we want to see the top high school players play in the tournament, but they don't want to risk getting hurt and never making it to "the league."
I agree, the "one and done" rule is stupid, but for the other reason. And I'll go back to my man Bill Walker at Kstate. He was almost as hyped as OJ coming out of high school, but couldn't go to the NBA and blew out his knee. Now he's not on any draft radar at all and could wind up working at McDowell's instead of cashing his NBA check.

Have fun, you two.
In the words of Green Day, it's been real and it's been fun. But was it all real fun?
You be the judge.

That was the first, but hopefully not the last, "Coming to America" reference.
Doesn't beat the Sanford & Son reference made earlier in the day, but I'll take it!
