Shows what I know about basketball. Down four with a minute and a half left, Drake just came down the floor and jacked up a quick 3. As the shot goes up, I'm thinking, "No! Why would you take that shot?"
Then it goes in. Nice shot, kid.
Ever see a coach verbalize those emotions in that situation? Funny stuff.
"No! ... I mean, great shot!"

Tied 88-88 on another huge 3 from Drake! 24 seconds left. What a great tournament.
No offense, but that was a horrendous charge call on that kid. I really do sometimes think the refs get caught up in the games and it clouds their judgement. If they lost on that, it would be a shame.
Overtime in the West. Not that overtime isn't fun, but it's sort of anticlimactic when you hope to see some sort of crazy buzzer beater to win the game.
I agree that call was lame, but what can you do?

In overtime, anything's possible. But I hope you're right.
Wouldn't it be cool, though, if college basketball played a college football-style overtime? I think that would keep up the anticipation and energy from the end of regulation with that "any team could win at any minute" feeling.
What do you mean, one possession for possession? If a team his a two on one end, the other could hit a 3 to win it? What if it's free throws? And intentional fouls? Too much there to deal with. Sounds like Paul's crazy 1.5 points for upsets with seeds that are more than double your seed, but only if it's an odd number on Friday and Sunday.
I think it could work. So many times, when teams go to OT, one team sucks it up because overtime is such an emotional letdown after a nail-biting second half. Thankfully, that hasn't happened to Drake or WKU. One-point game with 21.3 seconds.
Double OT not likely now that Drake took a one-point lead with 5.7 seconds left. We're going to see a crazy last-second shot.
Can't wait.

So can I just say this is the worst start I've had in recent memory? Certainly not going to recap my victory last year. The only consolation is all those young men holding hands and hugging each other.
